Every stained glass obsession starts somewhere. First Bite is a relaxed, hands-on introduction to the copper-foil stained glass process. Designed for complete beginners, this workshop lets you get your hands on the tools, discover the magic of stained glass, and create something beautiful—all without committing to a multiweek course.

Most of your glass will be carefully prepared in advance, so you can focus on the fun stuff. You'll watch a glass-cutting demonstration, try scoring and breaking a few simple pieces, then grind, copper-foil, solder, and leave with a finished piece of art, a new appreciation for the craft, and possibly a very bad new habit.

First Bite or Core Skills?

First Bite is a project-based introduction, not a comprehensive glass-cutting course. You'll experience the major stages of the process while working with mostly precut glass.

Want to learn to cut, fit, and construct a stained glass piece entirely on your own? That's what Core Skills, our foundational course, is all about.

What's Included?

Your registration includes all glass, copper foil, solder, flux, hanging hardware, safety equipment, and full use of professional stained glass tools. Classes are limited to four students, so you'll receive plenty of individual attention and hands-on instruction.

Before You Arrive:

Please wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing that can get a little dusty. Tie back long hair when necessary. All required protective equipment will be provided.
